The Memoirs of Satan

The Memoirs of Satan

Les Mémoires de Satan, nouveaux contes loufoques (The Memoirs of Satan, New Crazy Tales), illustrated by Claire Gourdin alias Bibidugredin, Atelier du poisson soluble, 2005

After five thousand years of silence, Satan finally decides to tell his side of the story. The world was not created as you were told, and it will not end as planned. Not at all… Another collection of really, really crazy stories.

“Pierre Cormon is back, taking on the creation of the world. He blows it completely up, rewriting Genesis in an irreverent way that will offend some people but please others”.
Ricochet Jeune

“A real philosophical dimension that challenges preconceived notions of good and evil.”.
La Tribune de Genève

“Then there was a new murmur. Three clouds hovered above the ship. They hung there for a moment, and Columbus had the unpleasant feeling of being watched. The men were silent. One of the clouds came down and reached the crew. Two angels sat in the centre, staring at them, looking profoundly stupid. The creatures from both worlds watched each other in silence, each as baffled as the next.

Ma atem osim po?” (What are you doing here?) one angel finally asked.

Columbus introduced himself: Admiral of the Ocean, sent by Their Majesties the Very Christian Isabella of Castille and Ferdinand of Aragon.”
